Molly Olly’s Wishes supports children with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families to help with their emotional wellbeing. We grant individual wishes and donate therapeutic toys and books to both children directly and to hospitals throughout the UK.Molly Olly

Molly Olly’s Wishes was founded in 2011 by Rachel and Tim Ollerenshaw. Their daughter Molly Ollerenshaw was diagnosed aged 3 with a Wilms tumour and despite a long and brave 5 year fight, died in 2011.

They spent a large part of those years in and out of hospital and soon realised that many of the patients they met did not have the emotional or financial support that they had for Molly and her siblings. Molly wanted to help these children and so Molly Olly’s Wishes was born..

West mercia Challenge Workshop

On Saturday 1st April (yes April’s Fools Day) the entire staff of West Mercia Fork Trucks attended the Company’s 2017 Service Challenge Workshop at The Village Hotel in Dudley. .

The workshop was run by Andrew Clark of Invigor8, who has been involved with West Mercia in the past in a consultancy capacity, and was designed to focus on and improve the service that West Mercia give to their customers.

Managing Director Dean Pugh commented, “It was great to have the entire Company together, from our apprentices through to the Directors, outside of normal working hours to concentrate on areas where we can improve the service that we offer to our customer base.

This is something that we do periodically to try and keep us ahead of the competition and some great fresh ideas came from the guys which we have already implemented. What was interesting was that Andy of Invigor8 asked for a show of hands to show who within the Company had started with us as an apprentice and over 25% of our staff raised their hands which makes us really proud.

It was agreed that we will implement the ideas suggested at the workshop and will then carry out an in depth customer service survey in 6 months time to gauge what our customers views are on the service that we offer.

Forklift trucks are an essential part of our operation and it’s vitally important that we have the right type of relationship with a good reliable fork lift provider that we can be confident will be available to help us as and when needed.

Some 20 years ago we contacted West Mercia to help us through a difficult time we were having with our previous supplier who had let us down yet again. Their response to our call for help was to send an engineer round within an hour and our truck was back working in a very short time.

This was the start of an excellent relationship that we have benefited from ever since.

We have a maintenance service contract with West Mercia for all of our trucks and they work with us every time a truck is due a service by asking when would be the best time during the day for an engineer to attend.

This arrangement works extremely well for us as we have quite periods during the day when if a truck is needed for service it has minimum impact on our operations to have a truck serviced.

Another great benefit for us is that West Mercia are, like ourselves, a family owned business and are always available when we need help and cooperation. Recently we decided to change four of our older trucks for new ones and Mark Pugh ( Sales Director ) came to visit us on several occasions during which we discussed the best trucks for our operation and also we thought about having cab’s fitted for the first time as a lot of our work is outside.

Mark was a great help and we took his advice on both trucks and cabs and since delivery our drivers have been very impressed and love them.

The new trucks arrived ahead of schedule which was great but again we had to plan when the vehicle delivering the trucks arrived so as to minimise disruption. This was expertly done by Glenn Draper (Service Manager). He organised the delivery to be here at the time that was best for us and the transporter arrived on time. Glenn then commissioned the trucks on site and we put them into service immediately. Our old trucks where then loaded back onto the transporter and taken off site with the whole operation taking no longer than an hour or so. Well done Glenn!

Managing Director and Owner of Riverside Woodcraft Ricky Leedham and his son, Christopher enquired to Dave Pugh at West Mercia because their current truck was not helping with their expansion, they wanted a larger capacity truck, and also a truck that shows their own customers that they are expanding as a fantastic local family business.

The Doosan used forklift truck looks like a brand new bit of kit, one of our suppliers also thought it is was brand new. Most importantly the service from West Mercia, from opening up on a Saturday for us due to our hectic schedule was second to none, Dave Pugh saw our needs and has supplied is with what is a fantastic bit of kit, we look forward to using this truck for many years to come, my Son, Chris is particularly delighted that West Mercia have fitted a cab on the truck, he will now be keeping try in the English weather!!

Dave Pugh commented It was brilliant to help a local expanding family business similar to ourselves, Ricky and Chris are the sort of customers we crave, a great local business who are enthusiastic in what they do, as well as the product we are selling./strong>

Being a new company, Dave Middleton, Owner of Middleton moving needed a fork lift to help in his own storage warehouse. Having driven past West Mercia’s depot in Oldbury, he decided to drop in and speak to David Pugh, Sales Executive at West Mercia.  Having been impressed with West Mercia’s image, Dave arranged to go back over to West Mercia the next day to view some potential LPG truck options with David Pugh.  A deal was done on a Daewoo G25E, and West Mercia agreed to refurbish the truck further, and also give Middleton moving a truck for free while the refurb was completed.

Dave Middleton Said: “I really was impressed by West Mercia, they had hundreds of fork trucks to choose from at their depot, and could not do enough to help.  I was delighted about the offer of a free truck while ours was finished, and it was well worth the wait!  I would not at all hesitate to recommend West Mercia to anyone, I already have passed David’s business card to companies that I deal with.  Absolutely First Class Service.’
